What is an electoral process?
Also called a voting system
It is the procedures used by a country to select those individuals who would form the government

How did Jamaicans get this right to vote?
The right to vote is called suffrage.
Universal adult suffrage is therefore the right of all adults ( people over the age of 18) to vote in an election .
It was granted in 1944.
Individuals who cannot vote include person below 18, those who are incarcerated, aliens, persons who are insane.

If you are at least 18 years old you are eligible to vote , however, you must
a citizen of Jamaica residing in Jamaica at the date of registration
a commonwealth citizen who has been a resident in Jamaica for at least 12 months
