When you walk in the front door the first thing you see is the Pick-It-Quick motto.

There aren’t any pews people need to bring chairs.

They have a lot of flower pictures hanging on the walls.

People get together to do barbecues.

because the preacher said dogs don't belong in church

to keep Winn Dixie from playing with the other dogs

to keep Winn Dixie from running away

He was able to escape and run to Opal.

He started howling when the preacher was talking.

Everybody was looking at the dog and not paying attention.

Winn Dixie started crying and laying down very sad.

because he sat quietly in church.

because he caught a mouse.

because he loved Opal.

becase he let all children touch his back.

Winn-Dixie always scared the children away.

The children's parents didn't want their kids playing with Opal.

The children were all afraid she would tell on them to the preacher and then they would get into trouble.

Only boys lived in Naomi, Florida.

Opal prayed that the mouse wouldn't get hurt and land on a land on a soft piece of grass.

Opal prayed that the mouse would find a good friend.

Opal prayed that the mouse would find a nice piece of cheese to eat.

Opal prayed that Winn Dixie would not hurt him.

The librarian thought Winn-Dixie was a coyote.

The librarian thought Winn-Dixie was a large cat.

The librarian thought Winn-Dixie was a bear.

The librarian thought Winn-Dixie was a fox.

a big fancy place

loud and noisy

a little old house full of books

a dirty place without any books

It was raining.

He was hungry.

He gets lonely without her.

So she can watch him.

She has red hair and freckles.

She run very fast.

She likes to listen to long stories.

She loves animals.
