Expressed needs, also called perceived needs, are situations clearly articulated and expressed by staff as needing a particular service, change, or adjustment to meet the workplace and workforce demands.

Unexpressed needs are situations where the employer senses a need that the employee has yet to share or may not have an awareness to.

Determine what learners need to be able to know and do after training.

Instruction should align to what your staff will need to know and do after training completion.

Instructional content should be concise and brief, containing specifically the information needed and only the information needed.

How will the learner prove mastery of the instructional information?

How will you present the instruction to the staff?
