Colonists from England, Spain, France and the Netherlands settled in North America.

As the settlements grew, more homes and buildings were built.

More services and shops were availabe as more people came to the settlements.

Many colonists traded with Native Americans.

Something things they traded were furs for metal tools and weapons.

Europeans had very little supplies and had to wait years for supplies from Europe

The weather was harsh: very cold winters and many storms

Many Europeans got sick from diseases

Europeans claimed land where Native Americans already lived.

Europeans and Native Americans fought over the land.

Europeans brought many diseases to North American.

Many Native Americans got sick and even died.
