What are Decimals?

A decimal is a way of writing a number that is not a whole number.
Decimal numbers are in between two consecutive whole numbers. For example, $3,7$ is in between the numbers $3$ and $4$ . It is more than $3$ , but less than $4$ .

Decimals are like fractions. They are in between whole numbers.
Between two whole numbers is an infinite number of decimals and also fractions.
