Por and Para-

Both mean FOR but have different uses-

Para-

Uses-

*to identify a specific location or destination

example- Nos vamos para Madrid. OR Yo camina para la playa.

*to identify the recipient of a gift or express that something is for someone's benefit

example- Compran el libro para Sara. OR Trabaja para Juan.

More uses for Para-

*to express a specific time frame or deadline-

example-La tarea para jueves es leer capitulo tres OR Necesitamos tu respuesta para el lunes.

*to express someone's opinion or judgment-

example-Para mi el beisbol es el mejor deporte. OR La clase de ingles es facil para ella.

*to express a purpose, use, or a goal and with an infinitive means- in order to-

example- Es un caja para joyas. OR Estudia para ser abogada.

​*to express an approximate or indefinite time frame

example- Salgo por la noche. OR Miré la tele por la noche.
