•Baptize (v)

•To perform the baptism ritual. Baptism is a Christian ritual

  where a priest pours water over a baby’s head to wash away sin.

•The priest baptized the baby.

•Laura was baptized at age 20.

Conduct (v)

•To plan and do. This word is more formal.

•Scientists are conducting research right now to make sure the Covid vaccine is safe for children.

Deceased (adj)

•Dead. This word is more polite than saying “dead.”

•My grandparents are all deceased.

Eulogy (n)

•A speech given about a deceased person. The purpose of the speech is to remember and praise the person.

•Scott gave a beautiful eulogy at his father’s funeral.
