Es esta imagen vemos dos bolsas de azúcar.

Vamos a ocupar el "THERE IS" para una sola cosa y "THERE ARE" para más de una.

Al utilizar los contenedores estos ya pueden contarse aunque el producto por si solo no se puede contar. Ejemplo:

There are two bags of sugar.

There is a bottle of milk.

There are two bags of sugar.

There is a bowl of soup.

There is a box of cereal.

There is a basket of apples.

There is a can of beans.

can ( exp. USA)

tin (exp. UK)

There are three jars of jam.

There is a carton of milk.

Las cantidades me permiten expresar cuanto hay. Por kilo, rebanada, racimo o pieza. Ejemplo:

Theres is a bunch of bananas.

Hay un racimo de plátanos.

Si me preguntarán cuantos plátanos hay. No contaría uno por uno. Sino por el racimo.

There is a bunch of grapes.

There is a dozen of eggs.

There is a kilo of meat.

There is a loaf of bread.

There is a piece of cheese.

There is a slice of bread.

There is a bar of chocolate.
