Grain group foods are full of carbohydrates.
Carbohydrates give our body the energy that we need to learn and play.
You used that energy when we were just moving/exercising a minute ago!

Go for the Grain Group!
Foods in the grain group come from plants too. There are many kinds of grain plants: wheat, oats, rye, barley, rice (and more).
The grains from those plants get crushed to make different kinds of flour. We use that flour to make dough and bake foods in the grain group.

There are lots of grain group foods
Any kind of bread, but whole grain bread has the most nutrition.
Any kind of pasta or noodles.
Bagels, english muffins, waffles, and pancakes.
Tortillas, buns, rolls, and crackers.
All cereals (though some are healthier than others).
Rice, oatmeal, quinoa, and more!

Serving sizes for Grain Group Foods
You should eat 5-6 servings of grain group foods every day to get the energy you need for your busy life.
Remember that a single serving is about the same size as your fist.
