Probability is simply how likely something is to happen. We use probability often when we are talking about genetics.

You may or may not get your mom's eyes, but what is the probability of that happening?

Though we may look very different, we have about 50% of the same DNA code as a banana and 90% with an elephant.

These differences in genetic code are called traits that are passed down from one generation to the next.
