Liquids can be compressed by about 4% of there volume when under 1000 atm of pressure, similar to a solid

Gases under the same pressure can compress to about 1/1000th their size

Like gases, liquids can diffuse (mix particles). Diffusion occurs becuase of random motion of particles.

Surface tension- a force that tends to pull adjacent parts of a liquid's surface together, thereby decreasing surface area to the smallest possible size.

Capillary action- attraction of the surface of a liquid to the surface of a sold

Vaporization- proces by which a liquid or solid changes to a gas

Evaporation- process by which particles excape form the surface of a nonboiling liquid

Freezing- physical change of a liquid to a solid
