Anytime that we eat food or consume a beverage between our regular meals.

The word snack often brings to mind fast foods: high in fat, sugar, salt & not particularly nutritious items.
Remember all foods can be eaten in moderation, but nutritious snacks should be consumed over junk food most of the time.
