James was planting a garden and a friend suggested he put worms

in his garden. James decided to do an investigation to find out what

worms do for gardens. He put soil, food, and worms in a clear jar. He

cut holes in the sides of a shoebox and placed the jar inside. The lid

was kept on the shoebox, except when James was making an

observation.
