when a prepositional phrases comes between the subject and the verb, be sure that the verb agrees with the subject.

it should be -> the key to the doors is in the the drawer.

A particular agreement problem occurs when the subject is an expression of quantity such as all, most, some, etc., followed by the preposition of.

it can be singular or plural depending on what follows the preposition 'of' (the verb agrees with the object)

-> All of the book was interesting.

-> All of the books were interesting.

-> All of the information was interesting.

Noun in English can refer to person or things. Sometimes in the Written Expression section, the person is used in place of thing, or thing is used in place of the person.
