When doing partial products, you are focusing on each digit, and their value based on their place.
Lets watch a video that explains two digit multiplication using partial products.

Make sure you have a white board or a sheet of paper to write on!

Let's try 32 x 15.
We know that 32 in expanded form is (30 + 2) and 15 in expanded form is (10 + 5
So we focus on the 5 first, and multiply it by the 2 and the 30. So 5x2 and 5x30.
Then we focus on the 10 from 15, and muilty it by 2 and 30. So 10x2 and 10x30.
We end up with 5x2, 5x30, 10x2, and 10x30.
5x2=10, 5x30=150, 10x2=20, and 10x30=300
Add all those totals together, and you get 32 x 15 = 480
