Studs
Vertical framing members within our walls.
Purposes of studs can change (eg. Wall/ king stud vs. Trimmer stud)
Lengths of studs may differ depending on the application. (9 ft vs 8 ft ceilings, Trimmer stud vs. cripple stud.)
Length, width and height can vary depending on the application. (2"x4", 2"x6") (8 foot are 92 5/8") (9 foot are 104 5/8")

Plates
Plates are horizontal running framing members. Typically we have two top plates (top plate, double top plate), and a bottom plate or a sole plate. Plates are what connect our studs from the top portion of a wall to the bottom portion.
4
Headders
Installed typically over windows and doors
The purpose is to divert the weight over windows and doors to the trimmer studs.
If there was no headder we most likely would crush our doors and windows
