 log3(x12)=2\log_3\left(x-12\right)=2  

  • Since the log function is isloated, we can skip step 1 (THERE IS NO K!)

  • Step 2: Rewrite as an exponential function

  •  32=x+123^2=x+12  

  • Step 3: Solve for x. 

  •  3212=x3^2-12=x  

  •  x=3x=-3

 log3x7=2  log3(x)7=2\log_3x-7=-2\ \ \rightarrow\log_3\left(x\right)-7=-2  

  • Step 1: Isolate the log function by adding 7 to both sides!

  •  log3x7+7=2+7\log_3x-7+7=-2+7  

  •  log3x=5\log_3x=5  

  • Step 2: Rewrite as an exponential function. 

  •  35=x3^5=x  

  • Step 3: Solve for x

  •  x=243x=243

 ln(x+15)+27=31\ln\left(x+15\right)+27=31  

  • Step 1: Isolated the natural log (ln) by subtracting 27 from both sides. 

  •  ln(x+15)+2727=3127\ln\left(x+15\right)+27-27=31-27  

  •  ln(x+15)=4\ln\left(x+15\right)=4  

  • Step 2: Rewrite as a natural exponential function!  lne\ln\rightarrow e  

  •  e4=x+15e^4=x+15  

  • Solve for x by subtracting 15 on both sides  e415=x+1515e^4-15=x+15-15  

  •  x39.60x\approx39.60
