The Stone Ages

In 1940, four boys in France stumbled upon cave drawings when looking for their lost dog with a lamp to light their way

They discovered cave paintings from 1500 B.C.

Technology: when scientists study the earliest people, the 'technology' those people used then were tools used to solve practical problems

Their technology was stone tools such as stone axes to cut wood to make fires, and bone needles to sew animal skins into clothing, blankets and tents, to keep them warm and dry!

During this time (2.5 million years ago) in human history, people were hunter-gatherers.

Men and young boys hunted animals like bison for food.

Women and young girls gathered the rest of the food including nuts and berries. Sometimes women trapped small animals for food

Black paint was made from charcoal

Red paint was made from iron oxide

Animal hair made paintbrushes (still done like that today)

Before language was developed, cave drawings helped early humans visually communicate with each other/Antes de que se desarrollara el lenguaje, los dibujos rupestres ayudaron a los primeros humanos a comunicarse visualmente entre sí.
