Conjugate

To give a verb a subject, you conjugate. To do this, drop the last 2 letters (-ar, -er,-ir) and add one of these endings. Each ending matches a particular subject.

Ser & Estar

both verbs mean to-be in Spanish but have different uses.

Ser is used for identify, occupation, origin, & time.

Estar is used to express location, position, health, and well being.

Ser to identify

• Son las ___ (hours 2-12)

• Es a la una (it's at 1 o'clock)
