French 24hr clock and TV shows/movies

It is the official time used in France for public announcements (eg. train/ tv/ movie schedules OR business hours OR sporting events etc.)

It is also known as military time as you hear in movies.

It is based on the 24 hours in the day.

It is the clock where the hours number 0-24.

In French the minutes are stated as 0-59 ONLY.

No you don't because it's A.M. vs. P.M is very clear!!!

A.M. hours in the 24-hour clock number 0-12

P.M. hours in the 24-hour clock number 13-24

Those phrases are ONLY used in the 12-hour clock to be able to tell A.M. and P.M. apart eg. 1pm vs 1am.

No!!! Remember the 24-hour clock is simple - NUMBERS ONLY!

15 minutes after = quinze

30 minutes after the hour = trente

45 minutes after the hour = quarante-cinq

NO!!! We do NOT subtract minutes when using the 24-hour clock

Time in the 24-hour clock is always stated as

the hour followed directly by the number of minutes.
