This is the greater than sign and it is used to show if a number is bigger. Example: go to the next slide.

here is an example of the greater than sign ( which is a crocodile in this picture ) The open side of the simble is the side pointing at the greater number. Which is 4 in this picture.

Less than sign
the side on the less than simble is the points that meet together. Other than the greater than simble has the opening in the back. Go to the next page for an example.

In this equation the points are facing to the five which is less than eight.
