English Lesson 3 - Calligrams

In today's lesson we are going to complete the final draft of our own winter calligram.

Before writing the final draft check you have used your steps to success and phonics to spell.

Challenge: use alliteration

Draw the outline of your shape using very faint lines.

Make sure your shape isn't so small you can't write around it, but not so big you don't have enough phrases.

You can draw one main picture or several little pictures.

Check you have used all the steps to success and your phonics to spell words in your first draft.

Use a sharp pencil to write your phrases around your picture.

Keep your handwriting as small and neat as possible. You don't need to use cursive in calligrams.

If your words aren't sitting on the line or your lines are too dark you might want to rub them out.

You could also go over the lines of the shapes using coloured pencils or colour your shape in.

Make sure you colour lightly so that we can still read your poem.
