The energy of movement

A form of energy that is produced when electrons move from one place to another place

A red truck is red because red light is being reflected while all the other colors are being absorbed.

A yellow banana is yellow because yellow is being reflected and all the other colors are being absorbed.

Light travels in a straight line

Light can be reflected, or bounced back

Light can be refracted or appear to bend when it passes through a medium

Light can be absorbed when it hits an item that blocks the light and creates a shadow.

Light will travel in a straight line until it strikes an object.

Some objects will allow all the light to pass through, others will allow some, and other objects will allow NO light to pass through.

ALL light will pass through

Items are usually clear or see through.

Water, glass, clear plastic etc.

Translucent items will allow some light to pass through.

The items are not usually clear and have a frosted tint

Paper, tissues, frosted glass etc.

Opaque items do not allow light to pass through. NO LIGHT WILL PASS

Opaque items actually block the light, absorb it, and create a shadow behind the object.

Humans, wood, concrete, etc.

An observation is a statement made from one's five senses.

Your five senses include; sight, smell, taste, touch, and hear.

When you make an observation you use your five senses to make a true statement.

For example, while looking at the sky you might observe there are many black clouds in the sky. This is an observation.

You could then make an inference by using your observation to infer (guess) that it is about to rain.
