What is Nationalism?
one of the most overused and misunderstood terms in modern politics. Nearly every person has their own specific version of it in their minds.
to simplify it: Nationalism is an ideology by people who believe their nation is superior to all others. This sense of superiority often has its roots in a shared ethnicity, cultural heritage, or religion

The perks and powers of Nationalism
it is an extremely potent force to unite large groups of people
it can produce extreme levels of motivation and action
it appeals to the emotional insecurities and fears in us all
Can inspire bravery, obedience, and loyalty to specific leaders
very difficult to destroy or avoid once it catches on.
Intoxicating and infectious and extremly contagious

So Nationalism=Bad?
This is where it gets really tricky...and messy.
Theoretically nationalism COULD be utilized as a force for good, but that doesn't mean it ever will.
Some aspects of nationalism are pretty much harmless, but overall yes when nationalism grows it is NOT GOOD for history.

What is the danger in nationalism?
it unites people...but only certain groups
it can incite radical actions and potentially incite violence (people will do almost anything if you say it's "for yer country!")
Any resistance or objection to nationalism is by default makes you an enemy
