The Spanish Explore Alabama Part 1

The first explorers were from Spain. 

They were looking for wealth (riches). 

They came to Mobile Bay looking for gold. 

 The settlers brought DISEASES with them that killed some of the Indians. 

 Some of the diseases were flu, measles, chicken pox, and diphtheria.

 The Indians believed the land belonged to everyone.

The Indians did not want to become wealthy.

 The Indians did not have armor, weapons, horses, or a written language. 

. The Indians believed in a supreme being and the SUN was his sign.
