In Trinidad and Tobago we produce many value added agricultural products.

Value Added Agricultural products are those where we change the physical state or form of the product (making guava into jam, sorrel into juice, pepper into pepper sauce)

It is the production of a product in a manner that enhances its value

Food is a resource that we need.

We can produce food or import it from other countries.

Trinidad and Tobago has a high food import bill but our country aims to develop Agro business and especially value added agriculture

This will ensure that we are always able to produce what our country needs.

The ability to provide access to adequate, nutritious, safe and affordable food to all people at all times is called food security.
