Listen to the abilities and select the correct picture.

CAN

Use can to talk about the abilities you have.

Examples

• I can play the guitar.

• Alexander can swim.

• My mother can sing.

CAN'T

Use can't to talk about the abilities you don't have. (CANNOT)

Examples

• I can't skate.

• Alexander can't fix a computer.

• My mother can't ride a bike.

Exercise 02

Write three abilities you have and two you don't.

Connectors

• AND (Two things I can do.)

• OR (Two things I can't do.)

• BUT (One thing I can do, and another I can't)

Examples:

• I can cook and make a cake.

• John can sing and dance.

• I can't swim or skate.

• My brother can't play the guitar or draw.

• I can ride a bike but I can't drive.

• Susan can't cook but she can sew.

Exercise 03

Use the information you wrote and record your voice saying things you can and you can't do. Use the connectors AND, OR, and BUT.
