Translating Operations

Operations include: Add, Subtract, Multiply, Divide, Exponents and Roots.

Exponents/Roots

• Are usually defined by their specific words

• Squared = x²

• Cubed = x³

• Find the side of a square with area ... area implies a quantity squared, to undo it you will take the square root.

• Likewise volume implies a quantity cubed. To undo it take the cube root
