der Imperativ = command form

Start with du-form of the verb - du bügelst

Drop the "du" and the -st ending. - Bügel!

This one is easy!

1. Start with the verb in the ihr-form

--- Ihr geht.

2. Drop the "ihr."

--- Geht!

To create the ihr-form of a regular verb, drop the -en off the stem and add a -t.

Do not apply stem-vowel changes.

This one is pretty easy too!

1. Start with the verb in the Sie form.

--- Sie gehen.

2. Flip the order of subject and verb.

--- Gehen Sie!

Forming the Sie-form of the verb is simple.

Start with the infinitive.

You're done! (almost always)

Used to say "Let's go!" / "Let's _____!"

1. Start with the verb in the wir form.

--- Wir essen.

2. Switch the subject and the verb.

--- Essen wir!

4 forms of the imperative:

--- du, ihr, Sie, wir

du: conjugate for du, drop "du" and -st

ihr: conjugate for ihr, drop "ihr"

Sie: conjugate for Sie, swap subject and verb

wir: conjugate for wir, swap subject and verb
