Today we are learning how to multiply 2 digits by 2 digits

First, 45 x 22 =________
We need to say 45 x 2 first bc we are multiplying out top number by the number in the ones place in the bottom number
Once we get our answer of 90 we can bring our 90 down.

Then we do 45 x 2
This is bc now we are multiplying out top number by our bottom number that is in the 10s place. In that case the number was 2 so we multiply 45x2 and we get 90 so the we put our 90 right underneath our other 90 and add

Lastly,
Once we add our first 90 and our second 90 we get 180

Answer!
So our answer to 45x22 is 180!
