Managing Emotion

You are in charge of your actions and you can decide what you will or will not do. Deciding not to say or do something that you know you shouldn't is called self-control.

*It keeps you from doing things that you may regret

*It keep you from doing too much of something

*It helps you manage your emotions

Anger is a strong emotion that develops when you feel upset or hurt. Every feels angry at times and that's ok. However acting on your ager by yelling or hitting is not okay.

*Stop what you are saying or doing

*Take time out to cool down

*Think about the situation

*Act on your decision

*Try to stay calm

*Talk about the conflict
