The earth is constantly rotating and we know it takes 24 hours to make a full rotation (night-day).
This imaginary line (axis) runs through the centre of earth going from north to south pole.

During the month of June the northern hemisphere (top half) of earth is pointed toward the sun.
This causes an increase in termperature and amount of daily sunlight for countries here (this is their summer).

This causes an increase in termperature and amount of daily sunlight for countries here (this is their summer).

The equator runs horizontally through the centre of Earth.
Anything above the equator line is known as the northern hemisphere (including the north pole)
Anything below this line is known as the southern hemisphere (including the south pole)
