Part #1 Práctica con "ir" continuado
Copy the vocabulary terms below. Then, using the formula "ir + a + place", write out the entire sentence, describing where one is going.
For example: if the sentence says "yo" and there is a picture of the river (el río), you would respond with "Yo voy al río."
Remember, when you have "a + el" such as "el río", it becomes "al".
La playa - the beach

If you need to review how to determinte whether a noun (person, place or thing) is masculine or feminine, watch the video on the follow slide and take some notes.

To summarize gender rules:
Nouns that end in "o" are generally masculine
Nouns that end in "a" generally feminine
Words that end in "ción", "sión", "dad", "tad", "tud", "umbre" are feminine
There are SOME RANDOM words that end in "o" that are feminine such as "la mano, "la radio"
There are SOME RANDOM words that end in "a" that are masculine such as "el día", "el planeta"
Words that end in "l" are normally "masculine" such as "el papel"

To summarize rules for number:
To make words plural that end in a vowel (a, e, i, o, u), add an "s"
To make words plural that end in a consonant (anything other than a vowel), add an "es"

The following video demonstrates how important articles are; sometimes, a noun can completely take on a different meaning when changing the article from masculine to feminine. You will not be tested over these words yet, but I want you to watch the video and familiarize yourself with the concept.
