Introduce yourself Ask for the person you would like to speak to (Mr. or Mrs. Or official title.)

State you business

If talking to an operator repeat when connected or until connected with the appropriate person.

Explain situation clearly

Let the other person speak (do not interrupt)

When asking for stuff never be negative 

Say please and thank you

Restate phone number and name

Thank person for their time
