General Structure of Class

WebEx meeting to begin class:

8:00 Wednesdays

8:30 Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays

If you are late, you will be marked tardy. If you don't show up to WebEx, you will be marked absent. Always contact me with issues.

On-your-own (asynchronous) work:

Your assignments will be organized under the day's date in Google Classroom. They will include links to other platforms such as Canvas and Quizizz.

6

WebEx Meetings

- When you enter the meeting: type your first and last name, mute yourself (mic off).

- We will usually keep video off so we don't slow down the meeting, but I may ask you to turn your video on at any time.

- Use the chat! Ask questions, correct me when I’m wrong, etc.

- Follow the school dress code still, and keep your background appropriate.

- Stay in the meeting until I dismiss you.

Ms. Shepherd's Rules

2. Take accountability for your attention.

Your assignments are weighted by percentages as follows:

Tests: 60%

Assignments: 30%

Final Exam: 10%

Retest policy: All students have the opportunity to retake any unit test within the time period allowed by the teacher. Students can only retest if all assignments from the unit are completed. Use the After School Form to schedule a test retake.

9

Tests

- Tests will be taken in Canvas, linked from Google Classroom.

- You must upload pictures of your handwritten work to Google Classroom to earn credit for tests.

- If you don't show your work, you will earn a zero on the test.

Grades

You should always check your current class grades in StudentVUE.

Although you will complete assignments through links in Google Classroom, it will not display your grade in class. Check StudentVUE for your scores, list of missing assignments, and feedback about your work. I try to update them daily.

Note from Ms. Shepherd

I hope to make this online learning experience as meaningful and fun as possible. We will try to keep it simple and structured.

That being said, it’s still math and will require handwritten work for you to learn. You can’t do it all in your head. You will need paper and pencils. I strongly recommend a three ring binder to keep your notes and assignment work organized. Please let me know if you need help getting school supplies.
