Subject-Verb Agreement

subject-verb agreement หมายความว่า ความสอดคล้องกันของประธานกับกริยา

 หากประธานมีคนเดียว (ประธานเอกพจน์) กริยาเติม s

 หากประธานมีหลายคน (ประธานพหูพจน์) ไม่ต้องเติม s

She works for ABC company.

We work for XYZ company.

 This cat comes from the USA.

 These dogs come from the UK.

He is a doctor.

We are teachers. 

1. คำตระกูล every…, some…, any… และ no… = เอกพจน์

 ถ้าเจอคำศัพท์ตระกูล every…, some…., any… หรือ no…แล้วตามติดด้วย …one, …body, …thing, …where ให้ถือเป็นเอกพจน์

 Someone is in my room.

 Everything is alright. 

2. คำนาม + and + คำนาม = พหูพจน์

  Ex. A cat and a dog are black.

* ระวัง คำที่เป็น ชื่อเรื่อง ของหนัง เพลง หนังสือ … ชื่ออาหาร และการบวก ที่เชื่อมด้วย and ต่อไปนี้ถือว่าเป็นเอกพจน์

 Beauty and the Beast is a nice movie.

 Rice and curry is yummy.

 Fish and chips is my favorite.

 Ten and five is fifteen. 

แต่ 3. The คำนาม and + คำนาม =เอกพจน์

 Ex. The manager and owner is at the meeting.

4. คำต่อไปนี้เป็นเอกพจน์เสมอ – Each…., Every…., Each of…, Either of…., Neither of…..

Each book has its story.

 Each of the book has its story.

5. คำเชื่อมต่อไปนิ้ กริยาให้ปันตามประธานตัวหลัง

 Ex. Either you or she has to die.

Verb ผันตามหลัง of

 -None of the students are absent.

7. ถ้ามีวลีเหล่านี้มาขยายก็ให้ยึดประธานตัวหน้าไว้ 

 along with (พร้อมกับ)  as well as (เช่นเดียวกับ) 

 besides (นอกจาก)  including (รวมทั้ง) 

 together with (พร้อมกับ) except (ยกเว้น)

ยกตัวอย่างเช่น

Tom, along with his friends, is playing football.

 His friends, as well as Tom, are playing football.
