PAST SIMPLE: Quá khứ đơn

a. Use (Cách dùng)

- describe an action that started and finished in the past (miêu tả 1 hành động bắt đầu và kết thúc trong quá khứ)

b. Form (Cấu trúc)

(+): S + V_ed

E.g: I went to school yesterday.

(-): S + did not (didn't) + V_inf

E.g: Thu didn't play the piano last week.

(?): Did + S + V_inf? - Yes, S + did/No, S + didn't

E.g: Did Thu read the book yesterday? - Yes, she did/No, she didn't

PAST SIMPLE - Quá khứ đơn

c. Signals (Dấu hiệu nhận biết)

- yesterday (hôm qua), last week/month/Friday... (tuần/tháng/Thứ sáu trước...), time + ago (bao lâu trước đó - 3 days/6 months ago), in the past (trong quá khứ)

d. V_ed

- Hầu hết các động từ trong quá khứ sẽ thêm -ed ở cuối

E.g: play -> played, watch -> watched, happen -> happened

- 1 số động từ bất quy tắc sẽ biến đổi đặc biệt (irregular verbs)

E.g: go -> went, do -> did, have -> had, make -> made
