Friday Story

Jolene is going on an adventure during a snow storm. She wants to meet up with her friends Jack and John. First, she needs to pack food for her adventure and for her friends. She grabs 6 granola bars, 3 peanut butter and fluff sandwiches, and 9 mini gatorade bottles.

Jolene was sure to pack 3 red gatorades, 2 yellow gatorades, and 1 purple gatorade.

Jolene put all of the food and drinks in a bag and was on her way to meet Jack and John. But before she could leave the house, she had to remember the rule to lock the door. The pattern is 1, 3, 6, 12.

Jolene locked the door, but her troubles weren't over yet. She had to dig herself a path to the road from all of the snow. She created a song with ryhmes to help make it more fun for her. She sang, "Time to go, time to go have some fun in the snow. Through the snow to Jack and John I...."

Jolene finished shoveling her way to the road, but just as she was about to start walking towards Jack and John's house she was hit by a snowball. She had to make shelter and then fire back. She started by creating snow bricks to build a wall.

Jolene finished her wall, but there were too many snowballs coming her way. The road had snow on it still, so she grabbed a nearby sled and took off down the snowy road. She was going really fast!

Jolene was moving pretty fast, but she had a thought. How was she going to stop?!

Jolene managed to stop her sled right before she got to a frozen pond. Jack and John lived right across the pond, so she ice skated across the pond. When she got to the other side there was a gate. The gate's lock had a riddle on it.

She entered the code to the gate and entered to see her 2 friends waiting for her. "Hola Amigos", she greeted. Her friends waved hello and told her they had a problem. "We're trying to unlock the box that has out winter activity ideas." Jack said. "It won't open without a code." Said John. Jolene looked at the code and saw a bunch of fractions, but they were all out of order. "Hmm, maybe we have to put the fractions in order from least to greatest. Let's try it!" Jolene suggested.

Jolene was right, they just had to put the fractions in the correct order. "Next time, we're not putting all of our winter fun ideas in a box that locks", John said as he opened the box to find a box of riddles. "Awh man, our older brother Jason must have turned our ideas into riddles", Jack said as he reached in and read a riddle, "I'm the opposite of hot".

They figured out that the opposite of hot is cold. Jack kept reading the riddle, "I need an orange vegetable to breathe and 2 lumps of coal to see. What am I?"

"A SNOWMAN", they all shouted with excitement. "Let's make the biggest snowman ever." John said. Jolene and Jack agreed. The answer to the riddle was a perfect winter activity for them and solving the riddle made it even more fun. The biggest snowman in their neighborhood was 4 feet high, but Jolene, Jack, and John created a snowman that was 4 times as tall.

Their snowman was 16 feet tall! Jolene and Jack posed for a picture in front of the snowman as John took the picture. They had the best day ever, but now it was time to go home. Jolene said goodbye to Jack and John and walked home with no problems and fell asleep with a cup of hot cocoa in her hand.
