Dawud and Sulaiman were two father and Son Messengers in Islam. Both were wise and Knowledgeable. Their history demonstrates that Allahs messengers were not always poor and powerless. some of them were wealthy, powerful and strong. This lesson discusses the lives and achievements of Dawud and Sulaiman in the Quraan

Overview
Dawud and Sulaiman are two father and Son messengers of Allah. Other Father and son messengers are Ibrahim and his two sons Ismail and Ishaq. Ishaq and his on Ya'qub. Ya'qub and Yusuf. Zakariyyah and Yahyah. Sometimes the mission started by the father was not finished in his lifetimes. After the father passed away the son picked up his fathers role and continued preaching Allah's words.
They did not automaticaaly become messengers because their fathers were messengers and not because they decided they wanted to but because Allah appointed them as messengers as well.

Early History of Dawud
Lived in the valley of Canaan in ancient Palestine.
He was apart of a small group pf soldiers under the king Talut.
Dawud fough Goliath or Jalut in and killed him.
Tault appointed Dawud to be king after he passed away.

Dawud Becomes a Rasul
All his life Dawud was a righteous person
He believed in one god and always prayed
He was appointed to be a messenger to Bani Isra'eel
Allah revealed the Zabur to him.
Dawud was skilled person, he learned the language of the birds and used bird in his army

Scientific Achievements
Dawud and Sulaiman were not only kings but they were also inventors
Allah granted Dawud the knowledge of melting iron
They made new weapons and armor made of iron
People used to use copper and bronze for weapons
Iron was a much stronger material than Iron and Copper

Sulaiman Becomes a Rasul
Sulaiman became the king after his father Dawud
Like his father he also understood the language of the birds
He used them to communicate to other people and used them in his army
He also was able to control ferocious Jinn and make them apart of his army.

Sailing Technology
Once the community was safe under Sulaiman's rule the people had the opportunity to conduct business. Prophet Sulaiman improved technology of boats so that they could move quickly and efficiently to their destination. This technology saved people months of travel time.

Personality of Prophet Sulaiman
Prophet Sulaiman was rich and powerful. Yet He never forgot to pray to Allah and submit to him. He was kind hearted and gentle. His ability to provide justice was extraordinary. During his rule he conquered several countries. One of those countries was the land of Sheba.
