Intro to Integer

Integer is a number with no fractional part, no square roots, or decimals

either positive or negative

positive numbers can be counted in nature

negative numbers are the opposites of the positive numbers

if you are adding a positive number to a positive number then add them together like a normal math problem.

If you are adding a negative number to a negative number then your answer will be negative and farther away from zero.

If you are subtracting a positive number from a negative number, then add a line ( to the subtraction line and make it addition) and change the sign of the second number then add the number together.

If you are subtracting a negative number from a negative number add a line to the subtraction to make it addition then change the sign to positive and subtract- keep the sign of the higher number for your answer

When multiplying or dividing numbers use these rules:

two negative numbers equal a positive answer

one positive and negative number equal a negative answer

use a tic tac toe board with the positive running in a diagonal line

Follow these steps to solve the problems

Repeated Multiplication of the same number-Multiplying exponents- positive answers are even exponents- negative answers odd exponents

A 0 in the exponent it is one as the answer

If you have a negative as the exponent you have to make it a division problem- not going to experience this yet

Exponents can be added, subtracted or multiplied of divided when in parenthesis together or in more advanced equations

numbers inside of absolute value bars change to positive numbers as the answer

negative numbers inside an absolute value bars is positive as the answer

negative numbers can be on the outside of the absolute value problem and make it a negative answer

All operations of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division can be completed inside absolute value bars

the distance between the number and zero and its always positive
