Welding electrodes

• Stored correctly to ensure they are not damaged

This is an example of avoiding cross contamination of welding electrodes. Label the storage containers and store the correct wire/rod in each tube.

Storage can also be in a cabinet, with each shelf for a particular metal. This prevents dirt and debris landing on the electrodes and keeps them stored separately (segregated).

Untidy work areas

• Can cause accidents

• Can have damaged equipment

• Can loose equipment

Switching off the power supply or isolating welding sets will help prevent the chance of electric shock
