• The movement of molecules is known as kinetic energy.

• As the kinetic energy increases the temperature increases.

• Energy transferred between objects at different temperatures.

• Heat moves from warmer to cooler objects.

• Anything that has mass and takes up space

• Plasma is another state of matter but that will not be in our investigations.

• The total kinetic and potential energy of the particles in the matter.

• The faster the particles move the greater the temperature.

• Temperature is the average kinetic energy of all of the particles.

• Total thermal energy is the total kinetic energy of all of its particles.
