2
the cardiovascular system
made up of blood ; blood vessels and heart
helps maintain your body by caring nutrients to your cells and removing wastes from your cells
also helps regulation by carrying chemical signals called hormones throughout the body
works by heart creates pressure when it beat and this pressure moves blood through out your body
3
Multiple Select
which of these made up the cardiovascular system
blood vessels
lungs
blood
heart
4
the heart
an organ made up of mostly cardiac muscle tissue ; size of your fist and in almost the center of the chest vavity
separated by thick wall to four parts :
right atrium - receive blood from body
left atrium - receive blood from lungs
right ventricle -pumps blood to lungs
left ventricle - pumps blood to body
5
Multiple Choice
which of these is the chamber that receive blood from lungs
right ventricle
left atrium
right atrium
left ventricle
6
blood vessels
blood travel to whole body in blood vessels
there are three main type of blood vessels :
artery - the blood vessel that carries blood away from heart ; have thick walls which contain a layer of smooth muscle ; has high pressure
veins - blood vessel that carries blood back to heart ; has connective tissue called valves that keep the blood from flowing backwards
capillaries - made up most of the blood vessels ; the smallest of the types ; extremely narrow because it allows exchanges between red blood cells and cells
7
Multiple Choice
which of these is the type of the smallest blood vessels
vein
artery
capillaries
pulmonary artery
8
Multiple Choice
what kind of connective tissue in vein keep blood from flowing backward
valves
capillaries
artery
pulmonary vein
9
circulation
there are two types of circulations :
pulmonary circulation - heart pumps blood to the lungs . In the lungs , carbon dioxide leaves the blood and oxygen enters the blood . The oxygen-rich blood then flows back to the heart .
10
Multiple Select
what are the types of circulation
pulmonary
systemic
circulatory
respotory

cardiovascular problems and disease
more than just heart and blood vessels are at risk of if there is a cardiovascular problems or disease but also the whole body is at risk
1.atherosclerosis - they are the major cause of heart disease which is leading cause of death in United States . It happens when cholesterols - an animal sterol , builds up inside of the blood vessels , this causes the blood vessels. to become narrower and less elastic . and when an artery that supplies blood becomes blocked , that person has a heart disease
12
cardiovascular problems and disease
2.high blood pressure - sometimes atherosclerosis may caused by hypertension , which is also known as high blood pressure , it can caused heart attack and heart failure , and the higher the pressure is , the higher the risk
3.heart attack - a heart attack happens when cardiac or heart muscle cell die and part of the cardiac muscle is damaged , often caused by the arteries that deliver oxygen to the heart are blocked , with out oxygen , the cells die . And when enough cardiac muscle cells die , the heart may even stop
13
cardiovascular problems and disease
4.heart failure - heart failure happens when the heart cannot pump enough blood to meet the body's needs , important Organs like brain 、lungs or kidneys sometimes damaged by lack or oxygen nutrients or by the buildup of fluids or wastes

blood
a connective tissue made up of plasma , red blood cells , platelets and white blood cells . Carries oxygen and nutrients to all parts of your bodies
plasma - the fluid part of the blood . Is a mixture of water , minerals , nutrients , sugars , proteins and other substances
res blood cells - also called RBCs for short . Take oxygen and nutrients to every cell in your body . RBCs has a special thing called hemoglobin , which give them ability to carry oxygen and give them red colors
16
blood
platelets - are pieces of larger cells remain in the bone marrow , put fragments are pinched off and enter the bloodstream as platelets . Platelets only lasted for 5 - 10 days , but are super important for form a plug as soon as a bleeding start , to reduce the blood loss . Platelets Also release chemicals that react with proteins in plasma to form tiny fibers , and fibers help create a blood clot .
17
blood
white blood cells - WBCs for short , and WBCs keep the body healthy by destroy every microscope particles that can make the body sick
18
Multiple Choice
please choose the full name of RBC
red brown color
retreat bear current
red blood cell
regret beater clock
red blod cell
19
body temperature regulation
blood did more than just supply cells with oxygen and nutrients . it also helps regulate the body temperature
when the brain senses that your temperature is rising , it signals the blood vessels in your skin to enlarge , as your blood vessels enlarge , heat from your blood vessels is transferred to your skin to lower the temperature .
20
Multiple Select
your blood do what jobs
supply your cells with oxygen
supply your cells with nutrients
regulate your body temperature
produce protein
produce carbon dioxide
21
blood pressure
every time the heart beats , it pushes the blood out of the heart and into your arteries . The force exerted by blood on the inside walls of arteries is called blood pressure
blood pressure is measured in milliliters of mercury , and usually given as two numbers . systolic pressure is the first one , it's the pressure inside large arteries when ventricle contract . The second number is the diastolic pressure , it's the pressure inside large arteries when ventricle relax
when the blood pressure is too high , it can cause heart or kidney damage
22
Multiple Choice
what is the fist number in the blood pressure
diastolic pressure
systolic pressure
