Imperative vs Il Faut

The subject pronoun is NOT used in the imperative.

Vendons nos vêtements! - Let's sell our clothes!

The imperative is used to give commands / demands to others.

If you know your present tense conjugations, you know the imperative!

The TU form for ALL ER VERBS, you drop the "S"

Tu parles (you are speaking) - Parle! (Speak!)

Être is irregular - Sois, Soyons, Soyez

Avoir is irregular - Aie, Ayons, Ayez

Means "it is necessary" "one should do..."

An INFINITIVE follows "il faut"

What is an infinitive!? - An UNCHANGED verb!

Il faut manger la bonne nourriture

NOT

Il faut mange la bonne nourriture.

Il ne faut pas aller à l'école.

NOT

Il ne faut pas va à l'école.
