Plural Nouns

A plural noun indicates that there is more than one of that noun (while a singular noun indicates that there is just one of the noun). Most plural forms are created by simply adding an -s or –es to the end of the singular word.

Examples: leaf = leaves / wolf = wolves / city = cities / car = cars / state = states / person = people / house = houses

Irregular plural nouns are nouns that do not become plural by adding -s or -es, as most nouns in the English language do. You're probably familiar with many of these already. For example, the plural for

mouse = mice / die =dice / ox = oxen / child = children / person = people
