The male reproductive organs in plant consist of (one or more) stamens / androecium.

Male organ that are made up of anther and filament.

Anther has pollen sac containing pollen.

The anther is on a filament.

The female reproductive organs in plant consist of pistil / carpel / gynoecium.

Female organ consist of an ovary, style and stigma.

An ovary contains one ovule.

A style is a tubular structure that extends from the ovary.

A stigma is sticky and located on top of the style.

Both are diploid reproductive structures

Both are diploid gametophytes

Both are produced through mitosis of haploid spores (n)

Both are development of gametes

Embryo sac: Develops in ovule / megasporangium whereas Pollen grain: Develops in pollen sac / anther / microsporangium

Embryo sac: Megasporocyte / megaspore mother

cell undergoes meiosis to produce

megaspores whereas Pollen grain: Microsporocyte / microspore mother cell undergoes meiosis to produce microspores

Embryo sac: Retained within the flower / ovary whereas Pollen grain: Released from the flower / anther

without cytokinesis whereas Pollen grain: 2 nuclei are formed through mitosis with cytokinesis

Embryo sac: Consists of seven cells / one egg cell, 3 antipodal cells, 2 synergids and 1

central cell after cytokinesis whereas Pollen grain: Consists of two haploid cells / one tube cell / nucleus & one generative cell / nucleus
