Paragraph Format

LT: I can identify a conclusion sentence that sums up a paragraph. I can correctly organize the parts of a paragraph.

Conclusion Sentences:

A conclusion sentences comes at the end of a paragraph and "wraps up" or "brings closure" to the paragraph.

Strong Conclusion Sentence: Mining was a dangerous job that presented many risks to people on the job.

Poor Conclusion Sentence: That's all you need to know about mining.

Choose a strong conclusion sentence for the following paragraph:

Lumberjacks worked year-round to get logs to the saw mill. During the winter, cut and trimmed trees were hauled to the nearby rivers and streams. When spring came, the logs were pushed into the water. The logs floated in the water to sawmills which started the log drive.

Lumberjacks are cool and awesome.

The lumbering process was a year round job.
