STAMP
The experiment was set up in three bottles. The first bottle had only yeast and water. The second bottle had only sugar and water. The third bottle had all three.
To collect our results we measured how big the balloon got which meant the amount of gas that was produced.
13
STAMP continued...
Cell respiration occurred in the third bottle because the balloon inflated. The balloon in the other trials did not inflate, which meant that no cell respiration occurred.
These results make sense because in the third bottle there was the yeast and the reactant it needed for cell respiration which was the glucose. In this bottle when cell respiration occurred, it produced carbon dioxide which caused the balloon to fill up.

What does metabolism mean?
Converting energy into food
Making light reactions happen
Converting food into energy
Burning off fat

Multiple Choice
What is the correct equation for cellular respiration?
6O2 + C6H12O6 -> 6CO2 + 6H2O + Energy
6O2 + C6H12O6 + Energy -> 6CO2 + 6H2O
6CO2 + 6H2O -> 6O2 + C6H12O6 + Energy
6CO2 + 6H2O + Energy -> 6O2 + C6H12O6
