Columbus's First Journey
On August 3, 1492 Columbus would set sail for his journey
He was financed with three ships: the Niña, the Pinta, and the Santa María
In addition to the ships, Columbus was supplied with around 90 soldiers and a 6 month supply of food and water
Their aim was to land in the East Indies, islands off the coast of Asia
After 70 days the fleet made land contact. However, it was not where Columbus had expected....
