What is a great heart, literally?

Finding your pulse
Put one of your hands out so you’re looking at your palm.
Use the first finger (your index finger) and middle finger of your other hand and place the pads of these fingers on the inside of your wrist, at the base of your thumb.
Press lightly and feel the pulse. If you can’t feel anything press slightly harder.
Once you’ve found your pulse, continue to feel it for about 30 seconds.

Once you’ve found your pulse, continue to feel it for about 30 seconds.
Count the number of beats in your pulse after 60 seconds, or...
Count the beats for 6 seconds and multiply by 10.
This is how you check your heart rate in beats per minute (bpm)!

“What did you learn about the heart and its system?”
The heart pumps blood to the lungs to get oxygen.
Blood is pumped through the body by the heart muscle.
The red blood cells carry oxygen to the tissues of the body and are pushed there by the heart.
